West VirginiaUniversity students who want to expedite paying their student fees or complete financial aid arrangements can do so during two upcoming times in the WVU Mountainlair.

WVU Office of Student Accounts, Financial Aid and the Office of Admissions and Records will temporarily relocate to the Mountainlair ballrooms Friday, Jan. 10, during general registration, and again on Monday, Jan. 13, for the first day of spring semester classes. Times for both sessions will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

“We offer these sessions because we know students and parents can sometimes get frustrated when they need information about paying their student accounts or finding out about the status of their financial aid €and either get put on hold or receive a busy signal when they call in,”said Susan Lantz, WVU Parent Advocate.”For students who are on campus, these sessions should make paying bills an easier and quicker process.”

Representatives will be on hand throughout the day to help students and to answer questions, said Michael Beto, assistant director of Student Accounts.

“We want to make it as easy as possible to help students pay their bills and check on their financial aid so they can concentrate on settling in to the new semester and their class work,”Beto said.

Students also are encouraged to log on to STAR WEB http://star.wvu.edufor information regarding their accounts, financial aid and important help-line numbers, he added.

“While we recommend that students process their student accounts by mail via check or money order,”Beto said,”these special sessions in the Mountainlair are the next best thing.”

Payments also can be made at drop boxes located at these locations:

  • Office of Student Accounts, B33 Stewart Hall

  • First Floor, Mountainlair

  • 1138 HealthSciencesCenter

  • G114 BennettTower

Student bills can be paid by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) by using the STAR Interactive Voice Response System by calling 293-2892 or 1-888-WVU-4IVR and follow the prompts. Credit card payments and payment by electronic check also can now be made by using STAR WEB . Students can access STAR WEB through their MIX accounts or by logging on tohttp://star.wvu.eduand following the appropriate links.
