This is the time of year for football and falling leaves. The air is crisp and the nights are cold. But not everyone can enjoy them. Accident victims, premature babies, cancer patients and many others are fighting for their lives and they need blood to do it. The availability of blood can be the difference between life and death for these patients.

Blood doesnt just appear in hospitals. It is there when needed because it was donated by people like you. The American Red Cross, Greater Alleghenies Region must collect 1,095 units each weekday to meet minimum patient needs.

To donate at the American Red Cross Blood Drive being held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at the HealthSciencesCenter, John Jones Conference Room, please call 598-4118 for an appointment.

Every presenting donor will be entered into a raffle for a $100 grocery store gift certificate. Drawing will be done at 4 p.m. at the end of the blood drive.

Please, take an hour out of your day and help someone else. Give life. Give blood. If you dont, who will?
