The 10th annual Maurice Brooks Lectureship, sponsored by West VirginiaUniversitys Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences Division of Forestry and the WVU Foundation, will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Room 459 of the Business and EconomicsBuilding. The lecture is free and open to the public.

The lecture will feature Dr. Kenneth Carvell, professor emeritus, who will be speaking about the”Ecological History of Canaan Valley.”

The Maurice Brooks Lectureship Series was established through gifts to the WVU Foundation, a private non-profit corporation that generates, receives and administers private gifts from individuals and organizations for the benefit of West VirginiaUniversity and its affiliated organizations

The lecture series is held in honor of the late Maurice Brooks, a professor of wildlife management in the DavisCollege who was described by peers as a”renaissance naturalist”of the Appalachian region.
