The award-winning WVU Mountaineer Marching Band will present its annual Keynotes Concert, featuring musical highlights from the 2002 season, Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.


The Marching Band Keynotes concert is an annual end-of-the-season event at WVU that allows fans of”The Pride of West Virginia”to hear their favorite band pre-game and halftime music from the WVU football games. The concert will feature the Bands full complement of brass, woodwinds, percussion, flags, and feature twirlers.


According to Director John Hendricks, the pre-game selections will feature WVU fight songs, as well as”Mountain Dew,”“Simple Gifts,”and”Country Roads.”


The half-time music includes:”Camino Real,”a fiery Latin tune;”Night Train,”a sultry swing number; a medley of highlights from Bernsteins hit musical”West Side Story”; the energetic Chuck Mangione song”Children of Sanchez”;”Man I Love”by jazz composer George Gershwin; and the smash Beatles hit”I Saw Her Standing There.”


In addition, the audience will hear”New York, New York,”made popular by Frank Sinatra;”My Favorite Things”from”The Sound of Music”; a patriotic melody featuring”Youre a Grand OlFlag”and”Stars and Stripes Forever”; the 1965 soul hit”Rescue Me”;”Niner-Two,”a jazzy mixed-meter selection;”Celebration”by Kool and the Gang; and various section songs.
