West Virginia University students who demonstrate an active interest and meaningful involvement in the areas of human rights, civil rights, social justice and/or world peace along with other qualities exemplary and reflective of the life and ideals of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are encouraged to apply for WVU s MLK , Jr.$1000 Scholarship.


To be eligible, applicants must be a full time student at WVU , must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher, must have financial need (as determined by the WVU Office of Financial Aid) and must have a current undergraduate class rank of sophomore or junior.


The scholarship winner will be announced at the 2003 Martin Luther King Unity Breakfast at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
