The West Virginia University Eberly College of Arts and Sciences will host its 7th annual Homecoming Lectures and Brunch Program Saturday, Oct. 19. The event is free and open to the public.


This years series is titled”Our Changing, Challenging World”and will feature lectures from four faculty members in the EberlyCollege, WVU s largest and most diverse academic unit.


Gregory A. Good, associate professor of history, will discuss”The Century Science Went Global;”Lisa A. Holland, assistant professor of chemistry, will present”The Power of Accessible Technology: Internet Video, Nontraditional Medicine, and Miniaturized Systems;”Psychology Associate Professor Tracy L. Morris will provide insight on”Socially Anxious Children: Demographics, Casual Factors and Intervention;”and James J. Nolan, an assistant professor of sociology, will present a timely lecture titled”A Sociological Perspective on Crime and Violence.”


The program will take place on the main floor of historic Woodburn starting with registration at 8:30 a.m. Dean M. Duane Nellis will provide a welcome at 8:50 a.m.


Participants then choose which of the four hour-long lectures they want to attend. A traditional Mountaineer Brunch follows, from 10-11:30 a.m.

The Homecoming football game kick off is scheduled for noon, featuring the Mountaineerssearch for their fifth win of the year in a square off against the Syracuse Orangemen.
