The West Virginia Water Research Institute (WVWRI) at West VirginiaUniversity will co-sponsor the West Virginia Water Conference Oct. 23-24 at the CharlestonCivicCenter. The conference is free and open to the public.

The conference will bring together researchers, environment regulators and policymakers statewide to identify how water resources can best serve the long term economics and environmental needs of the state. In addition, the conference will bring researchers and students together to form teams to tackle West Virginias most pressing water research needs.

The goal of the conference is to identify West Virginias principal water issues and to identify how policy, technology and education can be harnessed so that the full value of this critical resource is realized.

The conference is co-sponsored by the WVWRI at both WVU and Marshall University, West Virginia Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), West Virginia Division of Environmental Protection and the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health.
