The Eastern Panhandle continues to outperform other regions of West Virginia, but by how much and for how long?

Find out when the latest economic forecast for the region is unveiled at the Eastern Panhandle Economic Outlook Conference at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Martinsburg Holiday Inn.

George Hammond, director of the West Virginia Economic Outlook Project, will discuss the outlook for the region, including trends in jobs, income and population. Also, the program will include a panel discussion from leaders of the regions industries and businesses and closing remarks from Jay Coats, dean of West Virginia Universitys College of Business and Economics.

The conference is sponsored by the WVU Bureau of Business and Economic Research in the College of Business and Economics. The event is co-sponsored by the economic development authorities of Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties, with underwriting support from Van Wyk Enterprises, Huntington Banks and funds from Economic Development Growth Encouragement-West Virginia.

Attendance at the conference is free and open to the public, though registration is requested. For more information and to register, call Janet Lemunyon at 304-293-7831 or visit the Outlook Project website: http://www.bber.wvu.edu/conference.html .
