National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) Executive Director Al Ebron has been invited to speak at FedFleet 2002 July 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri. FedFleet is an effort to educate federal employees and managers about the viable alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) options available today.

Ebron will provide an overview of the NAFTC s unique AFV training programs. AFV s operate on fuels such as natural gas, propane, ethanol, biodiesel and electricity. Such”clean, green”cars and trucks help to improve air quality, especially in highly polluted urban areas, and help to decrease national dependence on foreign oil, Ebron said.

The NAFTC , headquartered at West Virginia Universitys National Research Center for Coal and Energy, includes a network of 20 higher education institutions across the country recognized as National Training Centers. Each center offers training to automotive technicians, fleet managers and others interested in AFV operation and maintenance.

FedFleet 2002 is the premier event for those involved in providing federal fleet vehicle services. It is sponsored by the Federal Fleet Policy Council, the Government Services Administration and the U.S. Department of Energy. Organizers predict about 1,300 people will attend.
