Brenda Thompson has been named Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at West Virginia University, following a nationwide search, Vice President for Student Affairs Ken Gray announced today. The appointment takes effect immediately.
Thompson began her professional career in financial aid at Concord College and joined the financial aid staff at WVU in 1984. She has been director of financial aid at WVU since 1998, and has been serving as interim assistant vice president for enrollment management since December 2000, when Wes Williams left for another position.
“I am pleased that the search committee recommended Brenda for the position and that she has accepted our offer,”said WVU Vice President for Student Affairs Ken Gray.”She’s an outstanding leader and I look forward to working with her.”

Thompson earned a B.A. in elementary education from Concord College and a masters degree in business administration from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. She is active in numerous national and regional professional organizations.
