The director of the National Energy Technology Lab (NETL) in Morgantown, Dr. Rita Bajura, will be a guest speaker this weekend at the Collins Honors Alumni Society reception, part of West Virginia Universitys Weekend of Honors.

Bajura will speak in the Rhododendron Room of the Mountainlair Saturday (April 13) at 7 p.m.

NETL is a laboratory that deals with many non-nuclear energy issues. Bajuras presentation will focus on global warmingspecifically on a method of greenhouse gas abatement called carbon sequestration. Carbon sequestration is a method of removing carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) from the exhaust of power plants and other burners of fossil fuels and storing it where it cannot escape into the atmosphere and contribute to global warming.

The event is free and open to the public.
