West Virginia Universitys Honorary Recognition Ceremony set for 3:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, April 12) in Woodburn Circle has been moved indoors to the Mountainlair Blue&Gold Ballrooms because of predicted rain.

The recognition ceremonya special part of WVU s Weekend of Honorsacknowledges the induction of new student initiates into campus-wide honoraries, including Helvetia, Chimes and Mortar Board.

Another weekend highlight is the 7 p.m. Weekend of Honors Convocation Ceremony to be held Friday evening in the Mountainlair ballrooms. Outstanding faculty, staff, students and alumni will be recognized.

Throughout the weekend, most colleges and schools will host open houses, tours, receptions and dinners, and exceptional students will give speeches and presentations, receive awards and be inducted into academic honoraries.

There also will be a 1 p.m. Ring Day Ceremony in the Erickson Alumni Centers Durrett Hall on Sunday, April 14. WVU students who have purchased the Official Class Ring are invited to attend this ceremony, during which President Hardesty will present them with their rings. Following the ceremony, President and Mrs. Hardesty will host a reception for students and their families.
