The Office of Service Learning Programs (OSLP) will recognize WVU faculty and students for community service and service-learning efforts from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Jerry West Lounge, WVU Coliseum.

OSLP will present service awards in the following categories: Outstanding Service Learning Course, Outstanding Service Learning Reflection and Outstanding Service Learning Community Activity. Students who have earned presidential service awards for 100 hours or more of community service will also be honored.

WVU President David C. Hardesty will address the award recipients and present the awards. Winners with receive $200 to pursue their service-learning and community service interests and a plaque.

The WVU Office of Service Learning Programs has administered the W.K. Kellogg”Expanding Community Partnerships”program to foster service learning on the WVU campus since 1998. According to Jill Kriesky, director of OSLP ,”An increasing number of communities and faculty have been working together to engage WVU students, applying the skills and theories they learn in classes to”real world”projects around the state. The Office of Service Learning Programs is proud to hold this reception to honor those who have served our community.
