West Virginia Universitys Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences and the West Virginia Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station are preparing for the sixth annual Graduate Student Paper/Poster Event from 9 a.m-3 p.m. April 11 in the Towers Blue and Gold rooms of the Evansdale Residential Complex.
Graduate students in the Davis College will have the opportunity to present research that they are conducting as part of theses or dissertations or research that represents their efforts on research projects conducted in conjunction with faculty members.
“The past five years of this event were a great success and we look forward to the sixth year of this important experience for our students and faculty,”said Tesfa Gebremedhin, a professor in the Davis Colleges Division of Resource Management and one of the events organizers.
“The Graduate Student Paper/Poster Event is an opportunity to bring recognition to the scholarly work of graduate students in agriculture, forestry and consumer sciences,”Gebremedhin said.”Further, this event allows for recognition and appreciation of the diversity across disciplines and students in the Davis College.”
Papers will be presented throughout the day with a break for lunch. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the day, and authors of posters will be asked to be present from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer questions from attendees. The event is free and open to the public.
