The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia will hear an asbestos claim, a grievance appeal, a DUI case and a medical negligence complaint when the high court comes to West Virginia Universitys College of Law Tuesday, March 12. This is the 12th visit to WVU by the states highest court.

“The court leaves Charleston once a year to come to Morgantown and WVU to hear cases,”said WVU College of Law Dean John Fisher.”It gives the citizens of West Virginia a chance to see the legal process in motion, and its an excellent educational opportunity for WVU s law students.”

The court meets from 10 a.m.-noon in the law schools Marlyn Lugar Courtroom. Later, at 2 p.m., some of the law schools third year members will present moot arguments before the Supreme Court in the prestigious Baker Cup Competition. The justices will then render a decision and choose the winners.

The public is invited to both events. For more information, call 304-293-3199.
