High school students and their families will get a taste of college life this spring when West Virginia University invites prospective students to campus for several Mountaineer Visitation Days.

WVU will host high school seniors and their families on March 4 (Senior Day), April 1 and May 20 (Sophomore and Junior Days).

Prospective students will tour the campus, meet faculty and staff, learn about admission requirements, financial aid, scholarships, housing, student organizations and eat lunch in one of the campus residence halls.

Guests will also have the opportunity to ride on the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT), shop in the campus bookstore or attend a class.

“Its a great opportunity for prospective students,”said Regan Fritsch Bruni of New Student Orientation.”Students coming to Mountaineer Visitation Day can get a very good feel for University offerings and the campus in general.”

The campus tour will also include a look at WVU s new Student Recreation Center which features multiple gymnasiums and courts, an elevated track, weight and fitness equipment, two pools and an indoor climbing wall. They will also view the new Downtown Library Complex and other facilities.

An Academic Interest Session will allow students to visit with representatives from various WVU colleges and schools in a college-fair atmosphere. Parents and students may also choose to attend information sessions offered by Financial Aid, Student Activities, Admission and Scholarships and Housing and Residential Education, as well as a student panel session.

High school seniors who meet admission requirements will have the opportunity to have their applications evaluated.

Prospective students and families interested in attending Mountaineer Visitation Day are asked to make reservations with New Student Orientation two weeks prior to the day they plan to attend. For more information, call (304) 293-6871 or visit the web athttp://www.arc.wvu.edu/visit_main.html.
