Former West Virginia University quarterback Chris Gray, who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center complex, will be honored by the West Virginia House of Delegates at 11 a.m. Friday (Feb. 22).
Members of Grays family will be on hand in the House chamber of the state Capitol when delegates are expected to pass a resolution honoring Gray, who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald, a foreign exchange brokerage firm with offices on floors 100-105 in Tower One.
Gray, 32, was at WVU from August 1987 until May 1992, lettering his senior season (1991) and helping WVU to a 6-5 record.
Back in October, friends, former teammates and coaches gathered at WVU s Puskar Center in Morgantown for a memorial service to remember Gray.
A memorial scholarship fund has been established in Grays name by the Mountaineer Athletic Club and the Gray family. Those wishing to contribute may send checks to Mountaineer Athletic Club, P.O. Box 0877, Morgantown, WV 26507 -0877, made payable to”MAC-Chris Gray.”
