West Virginia University students will have a new, improved option for night bus travel in Morgantown €Mountain Lines Campus P.M.

Mountain Line began the new service Thursday (Jan. 10), and it will continue this semester each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The bus loop begins at the Evansdale Residential Complex (ERC), leaving on the hour from 11 p.m. to midnight, and then leaving every half hour until finishing its final loop at 3 a.m.

From Towers, the bus will travel by the MedicalCenter, down Valley View, to the Mountainlair and downtown Morgantown. As with all Mountain Line bus routes, there are no fixed bus stops; buses can be flagged down at any safe point on the loop.

Students, faculty and staff can ride Campus P.M. for free by presenting a valid Mountaineer Card to the driver. Non-students who dont have a Mountain Line bus pass can pay 75 cents to ride.

Bob Roberts, director of WVU s Department of Public Safety, said Campus P.M. will provide more rides and a better service than either Nite Rider or The Ride, which will be discontinued.

In addition to Campus P.M., Mountain Line offers evening bus service to downtown Morgantown and the Morgantown Mall from 6 p.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday, with buses leaving the ERC on the hour and the Mountainlair nine minutes after the hour. Evening fares are 75 cents per trip; daytime service is free to WVU faculty, staff and students with a valid ID.
