The annual”Winter Lights at WVU Jacksons Mill,”a special two-day holiday event featuring beautiful lights, wonderful food and special seasonal activities for the entire family, will be held Dec. 14-15 at the Lewis County facility.

The celebration begins with a”Winter Lights Holiday Buffet”from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in the Mount Vernon Dining Hall. Entertainment will be provided by the Lewis County High School Concert Choir. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12. The menu includes baked steak and roast turkey with all the trimmings. Reservations must be made in advance (after Dec. 1) by calling 800-287-8206.

From 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 14-15, more than 1,000 luminaries along with traditional red ribbons and fresh greenery will transform the landmark into a beautiful seasonal showplace. Visitors may drive or walk through the grounds, which are located just off U.S. Route 19 North near Weston. There is no admission charge.

This years activities also include horse and buggy rides around the Mill grounds from 6-8 p.m. Friday (Dec. 14) for $5 per person, and a special holiday childrens program,”An Old-Fashioned Christmas,”from 4-6 p.m. in the Assembly Hall on Saturday (Dec. 15).
