The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc. has filled three fund-raising positions and promoted four employees.
David Berry is the new Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Paula Dillig and Garth Lindley join the staff as Assistant Directors of Development for Major Gifts. Bryan Benchoff, Tim Bolling, Joyce Brewer and Shelley Birdsong-Maddex received promotions.
Berry came to the WVU Foundation from Motorola, where he served as consultant to the consumer products business unit. Prior to that, he worked for the Eastman Kodak Co. managing the relationship for Kodak at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. He is graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y., where he earned a B.A. in art.
Dillig previously served as development officer at the WVU School of Pharmacy. A resident of Morgantown, she earned a B.S. in elementary education and an M.A. in higher education administration, both from WVU .
Lindley was an assistant in the WVU Presidents Office. He received a B.S. in secondary education and an M.A. in educational leadership studies, both from WVU . A native of Kingwood, he is the son of William and Mildred Lindley.
Benchoff, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President for Development from Senior Director of Major Gifts. A member of the foundation staff since 1990, he will continue in his role as Assistant Director for the Building Greatness Campaign. Benchoff is a graduate of Kutztown (Pa.) University, where he earned a B.A. in social welfare. He also earned a degree in financial development/non-profit management from Adelphi University and an M.A. in educational leadership studies from WVU .
Bolling, who has worked at the Foundation since 1995, now serves as Senior Director of Development for Major Gifts. He previously held the position of Director of Development for Major Gifts. Bolling received a B.A. in politics from Washington and Lee University and a J.D. from WVU .
Brewer, a Foundation employee since 1988, has been promoted to Human Resources and Grants Manager from Stewardship and Administrative Officer. Brewer, a graduate of Grand Valley State University, resides in Morgantown with her husband Howard. She has two grown children, Barry and Melissa.
Birdsong-Maddex, who has been with the Foundation since 1998, has been promoted to Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations from Interim Assistant Director. Maddex earned a B.A. in history from Virginia Commonwealth University and a M.S. in history from WVU . She, her husband Lee and their son Nathaniel reside in Morgantown.
The WVU Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that generates, receives and administers private gifts from individuals and organizations for the benefit of West Virginia University. The Foundation is in the midst of a $250 million Building Greatness Campaign on behalf of the University, which concludes Dec. 31, 2003.
