The WVU Extension Service and National 4-H Council are seeking nominations of West Virginians to the newly established National 4-H Hall of Fame. Nominations must be received by Sept. 28.

To nominate a worthy candidate, please submit the persons name, along with a brief (250 words or less) summary of the significant contributions the nominee has made to the West Virginia 4-H program. When submitting a nomination, please include name, address, telephone number and e-mail address of the nominator.

“There are so many West Virginia 4-Hersthose from the past and the presentwho personify the strong and lasting values of 4-H and are deserving of a place in the National 4-H Hall of Fame,”said Larry Cote, WVU associate provost for Extension and public service.”Through this call for nominations, we hope to gather as many names as possible. A statewide committee will then have the difficult task of selecting our states three nominees.”

The National 4-H Hall of Fame is being established as part of next years anniversary celebrating 100 years of 4-H in America. One hundred people will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, with each state guaranteed one inductee.

West Virginia 4-H is a program administered by the WVU Extension Service.
