West Virginia Universitys annual United Way campaign kicks into high gear Wednesday (Sept. 12) with a noon luncheon at Erickson Alumni Center.

WVU Campaign Chair Ken Gray, vice president for Student Affairs, will announce the campaign goal and details of the effort. Last years goal was $150,000, but employees exceeded that amountraising over $200,000.

Besides Gray, speakers at the event will include WVU Head Coach Rich Rodriguez and Brian Kastick, secretary of the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue. About 250 WVU departmental volunteers also will attend the lunch and pick up forms and other United Way information.

More than 28 local social service agencies benefit from United Way donations. WVU is Monongalia Countys largest United Way contributor. Many employees and students also donate their time to the work of the various agencies.
