The National Environmental Training Center for Small Communities’(NETCSC) Second Environmental Training Institute for Small Communities will be held Aug. 6-10 at West Virginia University (WVU). Sessions will be held at the Mountainlair on the Downtown Campus.
Environmental trainers, technical assistance providers, regulatory personnel and small community local officials and decision makers will benefit from this five-day event. NETCSC will feature training courses about managing wastewater, drinking water and solid waste services in small communities. It also will provide networking opportunities, facility tours, environmental training exhibits and presentations about key environmental system management, training and technical assistance issues.
The Institute’s nationally recognized trainers are experts with extensive knowledge in environmental system management, small and alternative technologies, small community issues and adult learning. Attendees will obtain the training information, skills, materials and resources needed to train others in their organization or state.
Institute courses include: Assessing Wastewater Options for Small Communities, Managing a Small Drinking Water System, Solid Waste Management Options for Small Communities and Training Adults in Remote Classrooms: Demystifying Distance Delivery. Sessions will address the technical, managerial, financial and regulatory aspects of small system decision making and management.
