U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., will visit Morgantown Monday, April 23, for two events involving West Virginia University.


Rockefeller will serve as host of the secondWest Virginia Forum on Technology&Innovationfrom 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the NationalResearchCenter for Coal and Energy. The forum will focus on transforming traditional West Virginia industries through the use of information technologies on the production line and in business and marketing operations.


The senator will also participate in a 2:30 p.m. dedication of WVU sInformation Technology Center for Workforce Developmenton Cheat Road across from the Glenmark shopping center. The center, which opened in February, is an expansion of WVU s Cisco Academy Training Center. Instructors provide certified training to individuals interested in entering the information technology field or enhancing their high-tech skills.
