A well-known author of childrens literature, Jennifer L. Holm, will give a public reading from her book Our Only May Amelia and her forthcoming novel Boston Jane at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in LyonTowers Jean Benson Lounge.


“Readers age nine and up will enjoy this lively story of May Amelia, a young girl whose unique spirit captures the courage, humor, passion and depth of the American pioneer experience,”said Elizabeth Poe, assistant professor of educational theory and practice in the WVU College of Human Resources and Education.


Holm, named the 2000 Newberry Honor Book author, grew up in Audubon, Pa, the only girl in a family of four brothers. She graduated from DickinsonCollege in Carlisle, Pa.


She resides in Brooklyn, NY, where she also produces television commercials.


An autograph session and reception will follow the reading. Discounted books can be purchased at the reading and in 607 Allen Hall.
