West Virginia University athletic director Ed Pastilong has announced the 2001 West Virginia University football schedule.


The Mountaineers open the 2001 slate at Boston College on Saturday, September 1; the home opener is Saturday, September 8, when WVU hosts Ohio University at Mountaineer Field. Other home games are against Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Temple, Pitt and Kent. Other road contests are at Maryland, Syracuse, Miami and Notre Dame.


The special dates for 2001, including Homecoming, Mountaineer Week, Parents’Day and Varsity Day, will be announced by the end of the month.
