WVUs Director of Economic Development Scott Rotruck will be a panelist on”Building our Economy: Coal and Beyond,”a live program airing on West Virginia Public Radio and Television from 8-11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.

The three-hour simulcast will provide a forum where people from different viewpoints and circumstances can discuss important issues affecting West Virginia. Rotruck will focus on the topic of”Diversifying Our Economy.”Other topics addressed will include nurturing small business; education and workforce training and strengthening; and future forecasting of the role of coal in West Virginias economy.

“Building our Economy: Coal and Beyond”is the first program in West Virginia Public Broadcastings Legacy series. Subsequent programs will feature discussion of other important economic public policy issues in the Mountain State.
