A long-time University faculty member and director of the Undergraduate Academic Services Center (UASC) will assume a new role as coordinator of the WVU Self-Study Report for the North Central Association of Colleges and School (NCACS), Associate Provost Rosemary Haggett announced this week.

Nicholas Evans, also an associate dean for undergraduate education in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, will assume his new role January 1, 2001, or as soon thereafter as a new director for the UASC is in place.

Haggett said Dr. Evans will lead the preparation of WVUs self-study report for the NCACS accreditation visit in 2003-2004. He will also retain his tenured faculty appointment as an assistant professor in the Department of English and will continue to serve as associate dean.

Evans has been at WVU since 1967.

“We are very grateful to Dr. Evans for agreeing to take on this very important assignment. This is a key role in the preparation for our site visit by the North Central Association in 2003-2004 and our continuing accreditation as a University,”Haggett said.”I know Dr. Evans will provide the leadership needed for us to be successful.”

The search for a new director of the UASC will begin immediately.
