Sightseeing trips to Tiananmen Square and Italy, cave rescue training and whitewater rafting may sound like dream vacations. But at West Virginia University, they are just examples of first session summer school classes which begin on Tuesday, May 23.

Although most students are already enrolled for summer classes, latecomers can register by calling 304-293-2892 now until Wednesday, May 24, when a $30 late fee will be imposed, said Steve Taylor, WVU registrar, Office of Admissions and Records.

Students must already have been accepted at WVU and met with their academic advisors to use the phone registration system, he added.

Course offerings are listed on-line athttp://www.arc.wvu.edu/courses/coursmain.htm

The first session ends June 30. The second session starts July 3 and ends Aug. 10. The fall semester begins Aug.
