If there is inclement weather such as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, or a torrential downpour, the University-wide Commencement ceremony may be shortened and/or canceled. Any decision to cancel the ceremony will be announced on local broadcast stations that morning. Graduates, families, and guests may also call 304.293.4764 or check the University website at www.wvu.edu for information on the inclement weather plan and diploma distribution points. West Virginia University asks for your understanding in the event an inclement weather plan is implemented.
