Several nationally known experts in the legalities of same-sex marriage, adoption rights and domestic violence will be among those speaking throughout the two-day forum, which will be held primarily in the Law Schools Lugar Courtroom.

Of particular interest to media may be a lecture on domestic violence by a former attorney for the National Organization for Women, Sally Goldfarb, on Thursday, March 2, at 3:30 p.m.

Other noteworthy talks include a Friday morning marriage panel in the Lugar Courtroom. Later on Friday, a brown-bag luncheon from 12:30-1:30 in room 153 of the law school will feature a discussion on the controversial Kessel vs. Leavitt case. The recent case involved a West Virginia woman who placed her daughter for adoption without telling the father, whom she was neither married to or living with. The father won an $8 million judgement.

A complete schedule of events is attached. Media planning to attend all or part of the conference can make special arrangements by calling Karen Zeller, 304-293-5520.
