Works by students studying music composition at WVU will be premiered during a New Music Concert at the Creative Arts Center, Friday, Nov. 13.

The free event begins at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) and will feature new works by John Skeen, Matthew Jackfert, Rafael Langoni Smith and Jaime Doerr.

Skeen’s work, “Droplets,” will feature his music paintings in performances by voice student Carol Leigh Womack, a soprano, as well as the composer.

Jackfert’s work is “Microscope,” for woodwind sextet, and Doerr and Langoni Smith both have written string quartets.
